CONECA member Al Raddi won third prize in the American Numismatic Association (ANA) 2018 National Coin Week Writing Contest. His 350-word essay entitled “Connecting Cyprus by Design” described how and why the country of Cyprus is depicted in the geographically wrong place on the maps on the reverse of the one and two-euro coins issued since 2005.

Al’s prize was a 2018 United States Silver Proof Set and his essay will be featured on the ANA National Coin Week blog,
