On Saturday 1/19/13 he brought the coin to Antiques By Time of Stockbridge, MI,
where I weighed the coin myself, did a visual surface analysis and ring test.
It passed with flying colors! If there is one known so far, are there more?
January 22, 2013—Jeff Young of Ohio appears to be the latest collector to find a heretofore unknown Transitional Error on a Lincoln cent. After years of searching he is now the first to report to me an example of a 1983-D cent struck on a pre-1982 (or early 1982) homogeneous copper alloy planchet or what most folks just call a “copper planchet.”
